 | | Precautions for travelling on bike late at night. Saturday, September 13 @ 23:44:55 IST by pulsar (2 reads) | Writing this article after the tragic death of Anuj Singh Chauhan.
Please follow these rules to be safe.
* Avoid riding very late at night on bike. Car / Truck drivers are either over worked or drunk.
* Avoid riding very early in the morning like 3-4 am that's the time the call centre drivers cars are more stressed out and sleepy. Most accidents on Mumbai-Pune express way cause at 4:30 - 5am when the driver just goes to sleep and its 100% fatal.
* Anuj and Mrigank were wearing black T-shirts that too on a black bike. Either have a bright pullover or buy the Flourecent vests with reflectors for Rs. 80 normally worn by workers on highways. It gets nicely tucked in below the Pulsar seat and now available at almost every hardware store.
* Wearing black at night gives really less reaction time to avoid the bike / cycle for a speeding car coming from behind.
* If its unavoidable to ride at these odd hours prefer to ride on the left lane of the road even if the entire road is empty.
* Wearing a helmet with refective stickers both rider and pillion is absolutely must.
May his soul rest in peace and justice be done swiftly.

General: Rocket Fuel for Bikes !!! Wednesday, July 30 @ 22:14:04 IST by pulsar (81 reads) | I bought a Octane booster bottle for my car. An expensive bottle indeed. But that prompted me to find if there is a cheaper alternative to boost the octane level.
On internet i found a simple but astonishing chemical but it has raised my doubt whether it will work.

Why doesn't Bajaj have a super bike ? Thursday, July 17 @ 11:28:30 IST by pulsar (81 reads) | People have been PM me asking me the above question. So intead of writing it individually i am posting it to the site.
Bajaj Auto follows a manufacturing line process. They design the bikes and they build it. BUT they donot manufacture any part themselves. (Exception might be the engine block but i doubt that too)
So who does it ?
There are OEM manufacturers who specialize in their field and one of them is Minda who makes bike electronics to give an example.
So Bajaj R&D have to design a parts which their OEM partners can manufacture which would be reliable and durable (or they would need to do a product recall).

Yamaha R15 superbike for kids !!! Sunday, July 06 @ 01:13:53 IST by pulsar (176 reads) | God know who is now selling the India story with statistics that average Indian is 19 years old with huge disposable income.
Yamaha has got it all wrong because of some statistics report from some useless marketing agency.
R15 an exceptionally built bike. The detailing is simply supurb and worth the 1.14 Lakhs Yamaha is asking for but the big problem is its just 150CC. They should have atleast given a 180 or 220 CC engine
Read my detailed article on why i called it superbike for kids.

SlipStream to enhance performance. Wednesday, December 12 @ 18:46:48 IST by pulsar (260 reads) | I travel 3 times a week on the Mumbai - Pune expressway in my Car and sometimes on my Pulsar 180Dtsi and noticed this phenomenon and its just great.
I heard of slipsteam during the Formula 1 race commentary on sundays watching star sports but was introduced to it while playing Test Drive Ultimate on my PS2..
The game gave me a sense of distance required for it without tailgating in another car. So applied it on the road too..
Most of the drivers of Scorpio and Tavera's travel at 115kmph on the Expressway. I get behind them at a distance of about 10 metres and the miracle starts..
The speedo meter shows 110kmph and the Rpm is that of 80kmph. The real fun is when i drive the maruti 800 when these drivers are shocked to see a small tin dubba over take the mighty SUV at 130kmph he he he..
I have achieved 125kmphs on my Pulsar (that what the speedo meter showed me) this way but it did scare me off at such high speed..
For learners the best way to get in slipstream are the new Volvo buses. Just get your bike at a 15 mtr distance and enjoy the ride of 110kmph at just 6500 rpm.
.
Its very dangerous for bikes to achieve it so do it only if you have full concentration on the road..

how to get stopped during a police bandobast Thursday, July 12 @ 01:09:32 IST by pulsar (1019 reads) | Don't get shocked... Its not an article to aid criminals but it for the common man to stay away from being frisked during routine traffic checking by cops.
You may say i have nothing to hide why should the subject worry me. Yes but there are situations like PUC expired, insurance not renewed, papers taken out from bike by relative / friend, forgot wallet so no driving license just to name a few
